Neck Training
So what are the exercises that Max does to stay healthy and keep himself at the top? Well, Max does a lot of training for his neck. That’s one of the training that every F1 racers have to do, as the G force on the turn can put over 2G pressure on your neck and break your neck. So that’s why it gets necessary to train your neck and push its limits.
Cardio
Then there is lots of running; you can see Max’s Instagram, where he posts many running posts. Also, he does a lot of cardio to train his Cardiovascular system and get an excellent body shape. For example, in this post where he’s training, you can see Max doing biking to get an entire cardio routine. Imagine that daily for about an hour or so.
Weight Training and Core
After that, you can check this post by Max where he is doing a kettlebell workout. I read that Max trains his upper body on different days and lower body on different days. While the core workout is something that he keeps constant. The core is another muscle group that racers need to train a lot, which matters most, as they will be driving for hours and then also getting lots of pressure at the core.
For example, his rival Lewis does a lot of Pilates to get a good core workout. So you can imagine how important it is to train your core. As for the weight training in the upper body and lower body, Max does a mixed routine containing different body parts, and he loves to use the kettlebell to do lunges, squats, kettlebell rows, etc.
However, he doesn’t make it too extreme as Max can’t get bulked up and gain weight or affect his performance. I don’t know how many days he does that without, but I would probably say like four days to five days would be more than enough. So you can also train two to three hours a day for five days a week, focusing on cardio, weight routine, and Pilates to get fitness like Max.
That’s all for the Max Verstappen workout routine.
