But with his entry into the Boxing arena and professional boxing, Deji is now leading a very disciplined life as a fighter. His loss to Jake Paul has taught him the lesson of what it means to be a boxer. He is not Sporadic or resistant to his workouts anymore and has been quite disciplined and efficient with his training now. Sparring/ Boxing Training

After the loss against Jake Paul, Deji shared that he had not done enough sparring. Sparring or training specifically for boxing skills is the core of training as a boxer. Deji Olatunji is quite consistent and time efficient with his workouts now and his trainer revealed sometimes he overdoes his training. Shadow Boxing or boxing with a boxing bag is usually the way Deji has been training for quite some time now. He is also made to fight continuously with high-quality players to emulate the probable moves in the ring.

Boxing can be done by anyone. And whoever does it consistently, develops a strong mindset and a good physical body. Since KSI is also a boxer now, Deji definitely takes some tips from his elder brother. The focus while sparring is to embark on learning the skills of the game quickly and emulating it as efficiently as possible.


Running and HIIT

Deji is made to run by his trainer, who is pretty impressed with his commitment. Running is the cardio that’s usually for the warm up and Deji uses it to build endurance. The guy combines it with a HIIT-style workout, where you run for a small period as fast as you can, followed by a 30-second complete rest. So, Deji does not follow a typical 5-mile consistent speed treadmill run. He focuses on building lean efficient muscles as opposed to big and slow ones.

Deji has suffered with mindset in the past, but now he is quite disciplined in his approach to fitness, as shared by his current fitness trainer. This exercise builds strong muscular endurance and imitates a ring-like challenge to the stamina of an athlete where you are required to throw powerful punches with very limited rest time.


Strength and Conditioning

For strength and conditioning, the YouTuber now focuses on doing lots of functional training exercises, like Rope Skipping, Push-ups, Chin-ups, Pull ups, Crunches, Plank, and Leg Lifts.  He also does a combination of Calisthenics and Shadow Boxing on his Strength and Conditional training days. 

These are quite basic exercises, but regular practice helps you with reaping really reliable results in the long run. These are essentially weight-bearing exercises that help build muscles and burn loads of calories in the long run.

Rest and Recovery

The athlete also gives himself rest to recover well. His trainer focuses on time-efficient recovery so, the idea is to progressively increase the workload, rather than going for intense workouts every day. So, he keeps a regular tab on workloads and gives himself enough time to recover through deep sleep and good Food.

Since Deji struggled with adopting the mindset of a Boxer, he had to be quite committed to his food habits too. So, Deji underwent a complete transformation in terms of his food choices. The guy was once an intense junk food eater and even did lots of those food-eating challenges. This had damaged his physical health, so this time the actor worked hard to maintain consistency and discipline.

Regular Small Meals 

Deji followed a diet that allowed him to have 5-6 meals in a day, as opposed to a big meal. This gave him enough energy to regenerate and rejuvenate for two workout sessions in a day, without lulling the body to lethargy. 

His meals consisted of lots of protein which is the base of muscle regeneration. He said a No to processed meats and went for steamed or lightly grilled Chicken, Fish, Eggs, Tofu, and Beans for protein requirements. Greek Yogurt, Salads, and Whole Grain Toasts were also a good part of his diet plan.

He ate a carb-heavy diet, 2 hours before workout. This was lots of Fruits, Vegetables, Plain Rice, and Complex Carbs like Quinoa and Oatmeal.

He also took good care of his hydration levels and fat sources including Avocadoes, Nuts, Seeds, and Olive oil.
